Hockey Ladies beaten ... literally   Hanham 2 : 1 Stroud 1st XI

Match Played on 2 October 1999
Stroud News and Journal, 6 October 1999

Stroud Ladies had the stuffing kicked out of them this weekend, both physically and mentally.
Hanham, who thoroughly deserved their win, went ahead in the first half with a goal from a penalty corner.
Stroud should have equalised but the Hanham keeper played well to save all their efforts.
The visitors, however, did equalise in the second half with a goal from the well-placed Pauline Edgington.
Unfortunately Hanham restored their advantage after a Stroud defensive error and kept ahead until the final whistle.
This was an incredibly disappointing League start for Stroud but the only way from this result must be forward if the team's hopes of promotion this year are to be realised.

Woman of the Match : No-one this week as all the Stroud team disappointed !
